How to work out the 18 table

The trick: The 18 table is the 9 table doubled. 9 × 6 is 54, so 18 × 6 is 108.

The pattern: The digits of the smaller answers add to 9: 18 → 1 + 8 = 9, 36 → 3 + 6 = 9.
