How to work out the 4 table
The trick: Double, then double again. For 4 × 7: double 7 is 14, double 14 is 28.
The pattern: Every answer is even, and every answer is also in the 2 table.

- 284 × 7 means 4 added 7 times, which makes 28.
- 364 × 9 means 4 added 9 times, which makes 36.
- 6Count up in 4s until you reach 24, or divide: 24 ÷ 4 = 6.
- 20Each step adds 4. After 16 comes 16 + 4 = 20.
